This has been a wonderful year for PearlDamour. Much of it was spent focusing on MILTON, our project where we’ve been traveling to 5 small towns named Milton around the country, researching and building a performance while also using our art-making to catalyze and support community conversation (Learn more at our project website www.skyovermilton.com). The resulting show premiered in tiny Milton, NC in August to enthusiastic local response. Our continued appreciation goes out to the many many folks who supported the project through donations! We will continue the grant-writing and fundraising through the next years in order to get the project to the other 4 Miltons.
Other exciting news: after years of working, we are finally going to bring HOW TO BUILD A FOREST to New Orleans! Details to come, but we are planning on an October ’15 presentation. We are utterly thrilled to be able to perform this piece in its home town.
Also, LOST IN THE MEADOW, our collaboration with designers Mimi Lien and Brendan Connelly built for a large meadow at Longwood Gardens is actively in development and is slated to premiere in the Fall. Finally, as we write this update, Katie is with Jim Findlay and Brendan presenting MILTON as an installation at the Granoff Center on the Brown University Campus (see picture), and Lisa is celebrating a successful opening of her new play Airline Highway at Steppenwolf, already slated to transfer to Broadway this March.
So yes, lots to come… and as always, lots to celebrate.
